About Kiron
Since 2015, Kiron has been at the forefront of offering accessible, innovative educational solutions to refugees and underserved communities globally. With a comprehensive digital platform, Kiron Campus, we have supported over 100,000 learners with skills essential for the labor market, fostering academic, professional, and personal growth.

One of our key initiatives is THRIVE, a program designed to upskill women who have experienced forced displacement—whether they're refugees, asylum seekers, or have temporary protection or migration status—in the DACH region. THRIVE helps them gain crucial skills and connect with opportunities in growing fields like data analytics and artificial intelligence.

We’re looking for a Labour Market Specialist / Researcher - Freelance (all genders) ideally with expertise in the tech and/or digital economy sector within the DACH region. Your Tasks
  • Research on emerging technologies and skill sets that are in demand within the DACH region’s digital economy sector.
  • Provide expert guidance and feedback in defining a corporate relations strategy to establish relationships with key (tech) companies in the DACH region.
  • Provide recommendations to help us identify potential work opportunities for our participants, such as which sectors or companies may be interested in their profiles.
Deliverables:
  • A comprehensive research report including current employment trends and patterns, wage and salary data across industries, roles and skills gaps, and workforce development needs.
  • Strategic recommendations for our partnerships & programs teams about emerging market trends and in-demand skills in the DACH region, particularly in the digital economy sector. These strategic recommendations should inform potential future directions of Kiron’s programs.
  • Feedback and recommendations on our corporate relations strategy (to be developed in Q2 2025).
  • Participate in two group sessions with industry partners to gather insights and identify opportunities for prospective Kiron programs. The focus group sessions are likely to take place in the summer and autumn to support the Network Engagement Team’s fundraising efforts for programs to be delivered in 2026.
  • A monthly 60-minute virtual consultation session to support our Programs Team and Network Engagement Team in the successful fundraising, planning, design, and delivery of our programs.
Your Profile
  • Researcher with strong knowledge of the labor market in the DACH region.
  • Previous experience researching the topic of labor market integration, especially analysing barriers and success factors for workforce integration of migrant populations, especially women.
  • A good understanding of skills frameworks and competency mapping (preferably in the context of tech education or HR).
  • Experience with recruitment practices and understanding how employers assess candidates.
  • Fluency in English and German, both written and spoken.
